National Park Week celebrated with free entry

If you're looking to make cheap weekend plans... here's some welcome news for you.

The National Park Service has announced it's offering free entry to all 397 national parks this coming week - April 21 - 29th.

That includes the Alibates Flint Quarries National Monument and Lake Meredith National Recreation area here in the panhandle.

On Saturday, April 21 from 9:00 am - 4:00pm it's also National Junior Ranger Day at  Lake Meredith-Alibates Flint Quarries.

There will be hands on activities, presentations and hikes.

The Park Service also invites you to take a picture of yourself at a national park and post it to www.nationalparkweek.org.
