HOUSTON (AP) - Authorities say a woman who falsely posed as a nurse is accused of stealing from dozens of medical workers. The Harris County Sheriff's Office has filed felony credit card charges against Robin Carmouche, who remains at large. KPRC-TV reports the woman has been identified in dozens of cases.
CONROE, Texas (AP) - A nurse accused of shooting a mother to death in suburban Houston and kidnapping the woman's newborn son is due in court for a bond hearing. A judge last week delayed Verna McClain's hearing until today to give attorneys more time to review the case. McClain is accused of shooting 28-year-old Kala Golden and taking her three-day-old son.
DALLAS (AP) - American Airlines will try to convince a bankruptcy judge that labor agreements must be broken for the carrier to survive. Officials with the Fort Worth-based airline will be at a federal court in New York today to open what could be a lengthy trial. Parent company AMR seeks to void its contracts with pilots, flight attendants and ground workers.
DALLAS (AP) - Authorities searching for the body of a missing 11-year-old boy say it will take weeks before skeletal remains found near Dallas are identified. Police have said the remains discovered Saturday appear to be those of a child or small adult. The father and stepmother of Johnathan Ramsey are accused of starving the Dallas boy to death.
