A big name will be making a stop in Downtown Amarillo later this year.
Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani is scheduled to speak at the Amarillo Civic Center for an "Evening of Leadership and Legacy" Tuesday, October 16. The special event is one of several activities planned by the Underwood Law Firm to help celebrate its 100th Anniversary. Center City of Amarillo made the announcement Friday morning at a press conference.
"We think that it's going to do several things. For one thing, it's going to give the people of Amarillo a once in a lifetime opportunity to hear Rudy Giuliani, someone we've all looked up to and want to hear his story of being on the front lines in history," said Executive Director for the Center City of Amarillo, Beth Duke.
It was also announced that the event will benefit Center City of Amarillo and the Amarillo College Honors Program.
"Through this, Underwood is giving back to the community and the partners, Center City is trying to make Downtown better for everyone," added Duke. "Amarillo College Honors Program which gives special enhancement to the best and brightest students at AC, we think that will have a lasting impact on our city."
