AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Earlier this week many people received a brown bag in their mailbox to fill with non-perishable food items as part of the High Plains Food Bank Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.
Saturday these bags were picked up off people's front porches.
"We think the bags that were left in everyone's mailbox will help," said Broc Carter with the High Plains Food Bank. "It's kind of like a call to action when you get that in your mailbox."
High Plains Food Bank is hoping to generate more than 30 thousand pounds of food by the end of the day.
"Last year we did 23 thousand," said Carter. "It'd be good to get 30 thousand this year."
If your bag was not picked up or you still wish to make a donation you can drop those off at the High Plains Food Bank located off Ross.
