AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Sunday is Mother's Day, so Amarillo has been busy with moms and their families celebrating.
Many people around town could not wait to talk about what makes their mom so special and share some of the best advice they ever got.
The most common pieces of advice were:
"If you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it at all, that's what she taught me, so I'm not saying nothin' bad about anybody."
"To always be you, be who you are."
"The best advice I ever got from my mom was when she said never give up and I've been living it ever since."
Not surprisingly, many of the older children admitted that their mom's were usually right.
"I didn't know she was right as much as she is. Turns out she is right."
One mother just turned 81 last week and she was celebrating with her ten children.
They laughed over who was her favorite and all the work they put her through.
"Well, yeah," she laughed. "But I like them."
Most of the children, young and old, just wanted to say thanks.
For all the hard work, continued love and support --- and for not picking favorites.
