AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission (TABC) has suspended the permit for the bar on Amarillo Boulevard where five people were shot Sunday evening, officials announced Tuesday.

The permit was suspended in order to prevent further violence, the TABC said.

It was at around 11:50 Sunday evening when police were dispatched to the Los Alazanas bar, located at 2800 East Amarillo Boulevard. Police said four people were found at the scene with gunshot wounds. One other, police said, showed up at a local hospital.

None of the victims suffered life-threatening injuries, police said.

Witnesses reported to police that a fight had broken out inside the club and an unknown male entered the club and started shooting. The victims were shot in various places on their bodies but none of the injuries were believed to be life threatening, police said.

The TABC along with the Amarillo Police Department have launched an investigation. According to the TABC, initial investiation indicated a potential for a subsequent act of violence.

"In the interest of public safety, TABC issued and served in person, an Emergency Summary Suspension Order on May 14th for up to seven days, during which, Las Alasanaz cannot sell or serve alcoholic beverages pursuant to Section 61.71(e) of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Code," TABC said in a statement.
