AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Police are investigating the overnight homicide of a man in West Amarillo.
The man is not yet being identified, police said.
At about midnight, police were called to the 2400 block of South Coulter to the Westminster Apartments on a call of shots fired. The caller told police a white male and a black female were seen fleeing the area in a vehicle.
That vehicle, according to the caller, was last seen driving northbound on Coulter toward Interstate 40, police said.
Upon arrival, police said a deceased man was found in apartment 145. The man appeared to have a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said.
An autopsy is scheduled to be performed Friday afternoon.
