AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Two people were arrested on murder charges stemming from a homicide at an apartment complex on June 7, police said.

23-year-old Cree-Anna Shemell Dawn, 23, and Dustin Ryan Rhoades, 27, both of Amarillo, booked into the Potter County Detention Center on a charge of Murder.

At about midnight on June 7, police were called to the 2400 block of South Coulter to the Westminster Apartments on a call of shots fired. The caller told police a white male and a black female were seen fleeing the area in a vehicle.

That vehicle, according to the caller, was last seen driving northbound on Coulter toward Interstate 40, police said.

Upon arrival, police said a deceased man was found in apartment 145. The man, identified as 39-year-old Deans Lee Anderseon, appeared to have a gunshot wound to the upper body, police said.

Preliminary autopsy results showed Andersen died of a gunshot wound to the head.
