AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Feeding your own family is no small feat some days, but one summer feeding program hopes to feed about 2,000 children per day this summer.

Citychurch Ministries has taken to the streets for the "Fill the Bag and Feed a Child" summer feeding program. But this year, they won't be delivering by car -- they'll be on two wheels! Folks helping deliver the 200,000 plus lunches will do so on bicycles. The organization said it found it easier to connect with the children of Amarillo when they deliver the meals on bikes that are more accessible.

The program will be going on throughout the summer and Citychurch Ministries will be welcoming more than 700 missionaries from around Amarillo and across the country to help with the effort. Each bag will be filled with things like fruit, popcorn, cookies and crackers. Plus, a hot lunch item like a corndog or pizza will also be delivered. All of the food is fresh so it will be prepared and delivered quickly!

It only costs about $1.50 to fill one bag for the "Fill the Bag and Feed a Child" program and you can help contribute financially by calling Citychurch Ministries at 683-7997. Contributing even $15 would feed one child for 15 days straight.
