BARTLESVILLE, Okla. (AP) - Bartlesville authorities say remains that were found last week in a landfill aren't human and instead belonged to a bear. The decomposed remains resembled a human hand, but turned out to be a paw.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The Tulsa Zoo is using vacant exhibit space to grow fruits and vegetables for the zoo's animals. The zoo is raising tomatoes, peppers, cabbage and others vegetables, including the curly kale that's particularly favored by primates.
OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - In the past week, the number of Oklahoma counties with burn bans has increased ten-fold. There were 21 counties with the burning bans in place as of yesterday, up from two just before the Fourth of July.

MAGNOLIA, Ark. (AP) - The attorney for a former Southern Arkansas University rodeo team member who's accused of stealing five horses wants a new venue for his client's trial. Twenty-year-old Jaci Jackson faces several theft charges in Arkansas. She also faces animal cruelty charges in Oklahoma, where a horse named Credit Card was found dead with its throat slashed.
