AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Amarillo Fire Department received a call at 11:15 a.m., from the Taylor's at 34th & Coulter that a vehicle was on fire.

The vehicle was moved away from the gas pumps by the driver who received minor burns. The 18-year-old man was transported to a local hospital for treatment.

When units arrived they found a carpet cleaning van was engulfed in flames.

Employees inside the Taylor's had already shut down the gas pumps.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the fire before it spread. There was a concern of propane tanks inside the vehicle.

It is unknown what caused the fire and the incident is under investigation but officials suspect a static charge may have been the cause.

The fire did a total of $7000 in damages to the van and the equipment inside. No other damages were reported.
