STINNETT, TEXAS -- The man accused of murdering a 97-year-old Borger woman in April 2011 is scheduled to be in court on Thursday.

The murder happened on April 21, 2011, when police said Gregorio Felan, 48, intentionally murdered 97-year-old Lois Kimbrell of Borger.

Felan and Kimbrell were neighbors in the Keeler Heights Addition of Borger.

Felan was indicted last June on the charge of Capital Murder.

According to police, Felan murdered Kimbrell in the course of sexually assaulting her. She suffered multiple stab wounds as well as blunt force head trauma.

Kimbrell was found dead in her home by a Meals on Wheels volunteer, police said.

If convicted, Felan faces life in prison without parole. The State can also seek the death penalty.

Felan is being represented by Amarillo attorneys Jeff Blackburn and Adam Tisdale.
