(AP) -- OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) - Gov. Mary Fallin will be a headline speaker at the Republican National Convention in Florida later this month. Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus (ryns PREE'-bus) announced Tuesday that Fallin will deliver an address at the GOP gathering in Tampa. Fallin was announced as part of a second list of speakers that included former Florida Gov. Jeb Bush, U.S. Sen. Rand Paul of Kentucky, and former U.S. Sen. and presidential candidate Rick Santorum.
SHAWNEE, Okla. (AP) - A former third-grade teacher and an ex-college professor accused of sexually exploiting schoolgirls are due back in Pottawatomie County District Court on Oct. 2. Prosecutors allege 49-year-old Kimberly Crain took photos of as many as 14 young girls while they changed clothes in her classroom and at her home, and then shared the images with 66-year-old Gary Doby.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - At least four businesses were destroyed in an early morning fire at a Tulsa strip mall. The Tulsa World reports the fire broke out shortly after 2 a.m. Tuesday at the shopping center near 2200 E. 61st St. Firefighters say the only businesses without major damage were the anchoring tenants on either end of the strip mall - Southern Hills Sports Bar and Omega Laundry. The cause remains under investigation.
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State center Phillip Jurick has been suspended indefinitely after he pleaded not guilty to charges that he possessed marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Coach Travis Ford announced Tuesday that Jurick will not travel with the Cowboys on their upcoming foreign tour in Spain and that a final decision on his status will be made when more information is obtained.
