K-2 Synthetic Marijuana products
Randall County Sheriff's Deputies raided Up In Smoke on Western and find 24 pounds of synthetic marijuana.
At 10:30 am deputies entered the Up In Smoke smoke shop located at 2901 S. Western at the corner of Western and Mockingbird to search for a large delivery.
Based on a tip they received and information received from DEA agents in Albuquerque, deputies knew they would be looking for boxes that contained the synthetic drug known as K-2.
They also located more of the illegal product that was package and ready for sale. More illegal narcotics and narcotic paraphernalia was seized from the store.
No arrests were made. Randall County District Attorney's Office expects more warrants to be issued as the investigation proceeds.
The 82nd Texas legislature amended the Texas Controlled Substances Act on September 1, 2011 making bath salts and synthetic marijuana products and other designer drugs illegal for sale and use under SB 331 and HB 2118.
According to the law, possession of synthetic marijuana can result in criminal charges from a misdemeanor to a felony of the first degree, depending on the amount of the synthetic substance.
Deputies completed their work at 5:30 this afternoon.
