(AP) -- STROUD, Okla. (AP) - Emergency officials say a wildfire near Stroud that's charred about 3 square miles has been about 75 percent contained. Lincoln County Emergency Management Director Joey Wakefield said firefighters were still battling the flames this afternoon. There were no reported injuries. Stroud is about 50 miles northeast of Oklahoma City - about halfway between Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
TULSA, Okla. (AP) - The Transport Workers Union says its mechanics and stores groups have ratified a new labor contract with bankrupt American Airlines. But the vote won't stop about 900 workers at the airline's Tulsa maintenance hub from being laid off. The company currently has about 7,000 employees in Tulsa.
NORMAN, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma County sheriff's deputies and U.S. marshals say they've arrested a Norman man wanted on a first-degree murder complaint in Oklahoma City. Sheriff John Whetsel says today that 20-year-old Daniel Ramirez was arrested in Norman. Ramirez was wanted in the Sunday shooting death of 21-year-old Raul Chavez in northwest Oklahoma City.
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) - Oklahoma State coach Travis Ford hopes a tour to Spain will bring his basketball team closer together. The 10-day trip could be exactly what the Cowboys need after a rocky patch that has seen defections from the program, a series of injuries and unwanted off-the-court issues. The team departed this morning and will play four games while it's gone, two in Barcelona and two in the Canary Islands.
