AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Martha's Home for the past 25 years has been giving women a second chance. Taking them from homelessness and turning many into college graduates.

Over those 25 years, Martha's home has grown from a small two bedroom house to four homes. They give single women and mothers with children, who are homeless through abuse, addiction, or loss of a job, a second chance at making something out of their lives.

"We take them in, we give them individual case management. We hook them up with community resources to help get their GED if they're lacking that, enrolled in college, they want to pursue a career, we help them get jobs," said Mary Kay Kuhurts, Martha's Home.

But that's not all.

"We help them take care of the details like legal aid, like childcare, transitional housing through the city. Just get them on their feet where they're self sufficient," said Kuhurts.

These women's accomplishments have been nothing short of amazing. They've become scholars, and teachers and other productive members of society.

Kuhurts said, "we've got a lady that has gone on to college she lived here several years ago. She's a teacher at Sam Houston Middle School working with at risk kids. She's got an awesome story. She knows the plot of homelessness and how Martha's Home as helped her become a success".

That's made possible by your donations. They helped Martha's Home expand into a fourth home this past December, as well as, ensure that the women's needs are taken care of. "We need donations for the women's needs. We need women toilettes all the time. Right now, we're collecting towels, laundry, detergent, and cleaning supplies".

You can bring towels, laundry detergent, and cleaning supplies to Beef O'Brady's September 6th, between 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to help out Martha's Home and receive a discount on your meal.
