AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Two teenagers were arrested early Wednesday morning on charges related to numerous auto burglaries.

At about 2:20 a.m., Wednesday, police were called to the 5700 block of Wabash on the report of an auto burglary.

According to police, a set of speakers were missing out of a vehicle.

Police were told a dark-colored Suburban was seen leaving the area at a high rate of speed. Other officers advised a couple of other auto burglaries from earlier in their shift involved a dark-colored Suburban as well.

Minutes later, officers said they stopped a green Suburban in the area of 34th and Western. During the traffic stop, police said numerous items were found inside the Suburban that were possibly stolen.

The pair of speakers from the burglary on Wabash were also found. Additionally, miscellaneous power tools, tool belts, electronic devices and clothing were found.

Charles Richard Hickenbottom, 19, was arrested on a charge of Auto Burglary and Theft over $1,500. A 16-year-old passenger was booked into the Youth Center of the High Plains.

Police said the stolen property was returned to its owners.
