CARSON COUNTY, TEXAS -- A vehicle stopped for speeding on Interstate 40 Sunday morning was found with nearly $65,000 worth of cocaine, the Texas Department of Public Safety said.
Just before 10 Sunday morning, DPS said a Trooper stopped a 2007 GMC Yukon about six miles east of Conway on I-40 for speeding.
Consent to search the vehicle was granted and 1,133 grams of cocaine was found, DPS said.
The cocaine, according to DPS, was valued at $64,917. It was found concealed inside of a purse lining on the rear floorboard, DPS said.
The driver, 26-year-old Micaela Ayala-Diz of Los Angeles and passenger 32-year-old Victor A. Lievano of Compton, Calif., were both arrested and booked into the Carson County Jail for possession of a controlled substance.
DPS said the drugs were being transported from Compton to Camden, N.J.
