Amarillo Police Department are investigating a deadly rollover that they say was caused by speed and alcohol.

It happened at 12:10 a.m. Sunday morning in the 5400 block of North Dumas Highway. Officers said upon arrival they found a 1993 Nissan Pathfinder had lost control as it tried to exit the highway and rolled at least two times.
The driver, 48-year old Michael Kent Malone, of Amarillo was taken to a local hospital where he was later pronounced dead. Justice of the Peace Nancy Bosquez has ordered an autopsy.

Police said speed and alcohol are factors in the crash. The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
