AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Texas' top-of-the-ballot races look like foregone conclusions.
Mitt Romney will almost certainly win the state's 36 presidential votes. Republican Ted Cruz should become the first Hispanic from Texas elected to the U.S. Senate.
In fact, of the 198 major races across the state, only 19 look to be really competitive.
Texas' booming population gave it four new representatives in Congress. But Republicans may take 23 seats Tuesday, one more than the 22 they won out of 32 possible seats two years ago.
Still, a nail-biter could come in a sprawling South Texas congressional district where freshman Republican U.S. Rep. Quico Canseco meets Democratic state Rep. Pete Gallego.
Another squeaker might be in Ron Paul's old district, where Republican state Rep. Randy Weber squares off with ex-Democratic Congressman Nick Lampson.
