AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Collection week for Operation Christmas Child is in full gear.
Operation Christmas Child is in organization that helps provide gifts for children all around the world.
In Amarillo, volunteers are busy filling shoe boxes with toys and necessities to later deliver to children.
Utie Farris was working at a Christian Church in Indionesia when Christmas boxes arrived. Farris is now an Amarillo resident.
"This is a special day for me because I can see how this is where it came from," Farris said. "We received the box but we didn't know where it was actually coming from so this is like a blessing for me."
