AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo Police are still searching for the person they say robbed an Amarillo convenience store last Thursday.

The suspect is described as a black male about 5'5" with a slim build and wearing a dark grey-hooded jacket with the hood up and jeans.

The robbery happened, according to police, at Taylor Petroleum in the 1600 block of Amarillo Boulevard East at about 6:45 p.m.. Thursday.

Police said a suspect entered the store and immediately pointed a rifle at the store's employee and demanded money. According to police, as the employee was taking money out of the register, the man took the money out of the employee's hand and left the store.

The man ran east from the front door, police said.

Police said a witness said there was a dark-colored four-door vehicle parked on the east side of the store with the trunk open before the robbery. The vehicle may have been the robber's vehicle, police said.

No injuries were reported. Any information on the robbery can be reported to Amarillo Crime Stoppers at (806) 374-4400.
