AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An employee of the Family Dollar in the 4400 block of South Washington was robbed by a man armed with a handgun early Sunday morning.

The employee, according to police, was leaving the store to make a deposit.

Police said the suspect, described as a white male wearing all black and a black ski mask, approached the worker at about 7:40 Sunday morning and demanded the money from the deposit bag.

The employee gave the suspect the deposit bag and the suspect then fled, police said. He was last seen running south from the store.

An undetermined amount of cash was taken and no injuries were reported.
