TUCUMCARI -- Mesalands Community College to begin search for new president beginning in the new year.

Trustee Chairman, J. Bronson Moore says that "it's business as usual for the college." despite the setback of the termination of Mildred Lovato as president of the college.

Moore said that the college will continue to focus on the educational services for the students and expansion of the colleges programs.

The duties of the president have been split between Natalie Gillard, vice president of academic affairs, and Aaron Kennedy, vice president of student affairs.

Kimberley Hanna, public relations director, said the board of trustees will meet after the new year to discuss what will be needed for the new president and the application process.

The goal, according to both Hanna and Moore, is to have a new president by the beginning of the fiscal year.
