AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Better Business Bureau has selected six Amarillo businesses to receive the 2012 Torch Award.

Allison Welding, Attebury Grain, Inc., Hills Sport Shop, Hoarel Sign Company, Mayfield Roofing Inc., and Ray Electric Company were the business chosen for the award.

The companies will be awarded Wednesday, December 5th at the 13th annual awards luncheon hosted at the Amarillo Civic Center.

The Torch Award honors businesses that have displayed ethics and integrity throughout their establishment over a long period of time.

"Every day we tell consumers who not to do business with," said Janna Kiehl, CEO of the BBB. "We warn them about the bad guys. But our integrity award is our opportunity to shine the light on the good guys in the community. The business consumers should do business with."

Businesses won't be the only thing honored. Ten students will be recognized for their integrity. Selected students were based on application that they had to submit and a panel of judges selected the ten recipients to receive a $1,000 each.
