AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Two men, according to Amarillo police, attempted to rob a hotel guest Sunday evening.

At about 8:30 p.m., Sunday, police responded to the Executive Inn in the 2100 block of South Coulter Street on an attempted robbery.

A 41-year-old hotel guest said two men had tried to rob him as he walked on the stairs, police said.

According to police, two black men who were wearing dark-colored clothing and dark bandanas on their head approached the guest and demanded money. Both men were about six feet tall with a medium build, police said.

One of the suspects pointed a black semi-automatic handgun at the guest when demanding money, police said.

After refusing to give the suspects money, the guest ran toward the office, police said. The two suspects fled the scene.

No injuries were reported and no money was taken during this attempted robbery.
