State gas prices are down 6 cents this week just in time for holiday travel.

A report released Wednesday said that the average price at the gas pump is now $3.03 per gallon.

National gas prices fell 7 cents to $3.23 per gallon

Current gas prices are around 2 cents under last year's average and gas prices are down nearly 14 cents from last month's average price, according to AAA Fuel Gauge Report.

The cheapest gas prices in the state can be found in Fort Worth where prices average $2.98 per gallon. Amarillo however, has the most expensive gas prices in the state with an average of $3.10 per gallon.

According to the Associated Press gas prices have dropped because of cheaper crude oil prices, increased inventories along with lower demand and economic concerns.
