AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Amarillo Police are investigating a Christmas Day homicide.
Early Christmas morning, police responded to a shots fired call in the 3900 block of Interstate 40.
Upon arrival police found a man lying outside room 136 on the ground. The man was pronounced dead at the scene and has been identified as Rory L. Jones, 27, police said.
An autopsy is scheduled Wednesday afternoon in Lubbock.
Amarillo SWAT team responded to assist police in clearing the scene and people still inside the room when police arrived at the scene, according to a news release.
Everyone inside the room was detained by police, police said.
Amarillo Police Department is currently investigating the case, police said.
