Amarillo police search for armed bank robber

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- The Amarillo Police Department needs your help finding the city's latest bank robber.

According to police, the incident happened at 10:40 a.m. Saturday when a male entered the Amarillo National Bank branch located at 34th and Soncy. The suspect approached a teller and quietly demanded the money from the drawer. The robber displayed what police say was part of a weapon and the clerk complied with his demand. The suspect left the bank with undisclosed amount of money, and no one was injured.

He's described by police as being a white or light skinned hispanic male in his 20's, or 30's, 6'0" tall, 160 pounds. He was wearing a dark colored pullover knit style cap, brown or olive colored "carhart" style jacket, blue jeans, and brown shoes. Police say he may be armed with a handgun.

Anyone with information on this robbery is asked to call the Amarillo Police Department at 378-3038.
