Birdstrike forced emergency landing

Naval E-2 Hawkeye made a emergency landing after a birdstrike. The pilot wipes blood from his face after birdstrike takes out windshield.

Emergency crews were called to the Amarillo Rick Husband International Airport at about 3:45 p.m. for a plane that need to make an unscheduled landing.

The plane was a Naval E-2C Hawkeye. The Navy radar plane landed without incident.

 The windshield of the plane was severely cracked. The plane did not show any other damages.

The pilot did receive minor lacerations from broken glass that came into the cockpit.

It was confirmed that a large bird, a Canadian goose, struck the plane causing the damage.
