Amarillo man arrested for Intoxicated Manslaughter

AMARILLO, TEXAS -- An Amarillo man has been arrested for Intoxicated Manslaughter after police say he rear-ended a motorcycle.

It happened at 12:45 a.m. Saturday when officers were dispatched to a motor vehicle vs. motorcycle collision at 45th Ave. and the East Frontal Road of Canyon Drive. Upon their arrival, they discovered a 2000 customized motorcycle driven by 37-year old Heath Allen Albert of Canadian, TX had be hit from behind by a 2009 Dodge Challenger driven by 32- year old Thomas Earl Sautter of Amarillo.

Albert died at the scene from injuries suffered during the crash. Sautter was arrested at the scene for Intoxicated Manslaughter. Police say alcohol and narcotics are factors in the crash.

The incident is being investigated by the Traffic Investigation Squad of the Amarillo Police Department.
