State Senator Kel Seliger of Amarillo is moving forward with water legislation.

Senate Bill 224 makes $1.6 Billion available from the state Rainy Day Fund as a revolving loan. It will allow the Texas Water Development Board to use the money for state projects. The plan was something Seliger had described before the 83rd Legislative Session began.

"That money will go to work immediately, get loaned out, come back in, and by the time we get to the 50 years, the state’s portion of that, the 26.9 billion, would be in place," Seliger said.
