The Hutchinson County United Way is well on its way to reaching its goal.

As of Wednesday, the agency raised $641,000 of its $645,000 goal. It’s the largest goal the Borger agency has ever set.

Hutchinson County serves 12 agencies, including the Red Cross, the Salvation Army, and Living Water Ministry, which provides food and clothing for those in need. Organizers attribute some of the agency’s success to its Executive Director.

Since 2004 the agency has increased its giving 149%,
