Mann Middle School is dedicating its entry hallway to one of its former students, Thomas Creek.
Creek is the only Medal of Honor recipient from Amarillo.
He was killed during the Vietnam War.
The Administration at the school wanted to return the honor.
It had apparently gone missing after the restructuring and fire.
They say students at the school should never forget Thomas Creek. Coach Scotty Fish said, "He was a student here in the early sixties. He joined the military when he was in high school and while he was in the military he was killed in action. He jumped on a grenade and saved his convoy. We just felt that was a really cool story."
The official dedication is Wednesday at 4pm.
