AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Britain's deputy ambassador to the United States is asking Texas politicians to support a new, expanded trade agreement with the European Union.

Deputy Ambassador Philip Barton has invited a number of Texas political and business leaders to Austin on Wednesday. A new trade agreement is currently under negotiation.

A bipartisan group that includes Congressman Michael McCaul, Mayor Lee Leffingwell and Rep. Rafael Anchia are expected to express their support.

Texas exported $29 billion worth of products to the European Union last year, and Barton is expected to release a study showing the economic benefit to Texas if trade is expanded.
