AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Wednesday morning Amarillo Police were dispatched to the Amarillo Civic Center on a burglar alarm.

According to Amarillo Police Department, 33-year-old Christopher Stephen Beck was inside the building walking down hallways when police arrived at the scene.

When Beck spotted police outside of the building, he fled the scene. APD officers outside the Civic Center saw him walking away from the building and took Beck into custody.

Further investigation found that Beck had used a fork lift inside of the Civic Center to force open a door on one of the concession stands.

Beck was booked into the Potter County Corrections Center for burglary of a building.
