21-year-old Sarah Hopkins was killed early Wednesday morning when a stray cow caused a wreck on U.S. Highway 287.
According to a news release from the Texas Department of Public Safety, Hopkins was a passenger of a vehicle when the vehicle she was in struck a stray cow in the road.
After striking the cow, Hopkins was standing on the side of the road when another vehicle driven by Claude Stoner struck the same cow and lost control of his vehicle.
Hopkins was transported to Quanah hospital where she was later pronounced dead by Judge Linda Hollenbaugh.
