AMARILLO, TEXAS -- According to AAA Texas, average gas prices dropped four cents to $3.54 per gallon for regular unleaded gas. The lower gas prices are well below the current national average which sits at $3.70 per gallon.
In Amarillo motorist are paying an average of $3.49 per gallon, prices that are down slightly from a week ago but still below the state average.
Drivers in Dallas are paying the most at the pump with an average price of $3.58 per gallon. El Paso drivers are paying the least, prices there are an average of $3.47 per gallon.
According to AAA Official, Doug Shupe, drivers should make sure to drive the speed limit and that car maintenance is up-to-date to get the most gas mileage from their vehicles.
