AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A semi lost its load Wednesday afternoon blocking the intersection at Washington and I-27 under the overpass.
It happened around 2:30 when witnesses said the semi was attempting to turn to get on the interstate. Somehow the fiberglass cylinder on the back of the trailer got knocked off and wedged under the overpass, blocking traffic on Washington.
Several police and emergency crews responded to direct traffic. Officers on the scene anticipate that the intersection will be shut down for a few hours while they attempt to free the semi.
