AMARILLO, TEXAS -- Three small children and two others were taken to the hospital after a three-vehicle accident Sunday afternoon.
It happened around 2:00 p.m., when officers were dispatched on a major accident at the intersection of Bushland and Western.
Amarillo Police say a Ford Focus was traveling south in the left lane of Western. A Ford Contour was traveling south in the right lane, that's when police say the two-vehicles collided.
The Contour ended up crossing into oncoming traffic, hitting a Chevrolet pick-up head on.
The driver of the Contour, Alyce Mystia Solis, had three children with her, a two-year old boy, three-year old girl, and a six-year old girl.
All four were taken to a local hospital by ambulance. The six-year old girl did suffer head injuries that are life-threatening.
Police say the six-year old girl was not in a child seat.
The driver of the pick-up, Lester Peterson, was taken to a local hospital by ambulance with non life-threatening injuries.
The driver of the Focus and her passenger were not hurt.
The accident is under investigation.
