AMARILLO,TEXAS -- A new 65 million dollar, high explosive processing facility was unveiled today at Pantex.

This facility, the HEPF, is a key component in making nuclear weapons, providing the initiation for nuclear detonation.

The 45,0000 square foot state-of-the-art complex will combine operations that are found in six different buildings right now.

"So, we'll have the ability not to have to move all around the plant as much as we had to in the past, actually test the radiograph of the he mix all under one roof and that's a huge improvement at the Pantex plant," said PXSO manager Steve Erhart.

The HEPF facility is scheduled for completion in 2014.
