AMARILLO, TEXAS -- In a press conference this morning at least five board members for The Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation resigned. The members claimed their reasoning for stepping down was the recent firing of Bill Anderson. The members say their was no real cause to fire Anderson.

Wales Madden Jr., is still a board member, he too said he was very disappointed in the treatment of Anderson. Madden also said he is in complete agreement with the board members that resigned.

According to an official spokesperson for the Texas Panhandle Heritage Foundation, a search committee has been formed to find Anderson's replacement, the vacant board positions will be filled, and the 2010 show will go on as usual.

To see Wes Reeves resign from a Board tells me a great deal was wrong with the method of Firing Bill Anderson. Wes carries such a high degree of ethics and responsiblitiy and sense of community that to see him resign shows that the way this matter was handled must have been really really bad. Our Law Firm was prepared to make substantial contributions which now will not occur based upon this recent development. The Smith Wilson Law Firm will not support the remaining board based on the conduct and apparent strong arm techiniques used by the "Board in Control" I encourage other to consider their contributions in light of the mismanagement that is occurring.
