The Amarillo City Commissioners voted unanimously to approve the creation of a dual left turn at the SW 58th and Washington intersection.

The traffic signal at that intersection was just recently put in place.

City commissioners also approved a resolution of the Board of Directors of the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC) authorizing the issuance of Taxable Sales Tax Revenue Bonds, Series 2009 in the amount of $38,475,000. These bond funds will be used for the construction, acquisition and equipping of the Phase IV expansion of the Bell Helicopter Textron Amarillo Assembly Center. The Phase IV expansion project will facilitate production of V-22 (Osprey), AH-12 (Cobra) and UH-1Y (Huey) Rotorcraft along with the construction and equipping of a specialty aluminum manufacturing facility.

This resolution is recommended for approval by the AEDC Board of Directors.
