B.J. Timoner is walking across America again to raise awareness of the fight against pancreatic cancer.

His father died of the disease at the age of 41. This is Timoner’s second walk. His first raised more than $20,000. He’s currently in the Texas Panhandle between Stratford and Texhoma. He averages about twenty miles a day. He’s on his way to New York after beginning in Los Angeles January 1st.  He hopes to end the journey at the end of June. All funds raised goes to the Lustgarten Foundation to find a cure for pancreatic cancer.

Timoner says, "It ranks as the4th leading killer among the 10 major cancers. And it’s actually rising and is expected to be the 2nd major cancer killer by 2020."

Joining him near Stratford was Pronews 7's General Manager, Tom Pritz, an eight year survivor of stage 4 inoperable pancreatic cancer. "I reach out to a lot of folks who have been newly diagnosed and try to offer some hope that you can survive."
