A man suspected in a Texas Panhandle rape case was caught over the weekend at an international bridge in Brownsville.

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officials said Oscar Ramos tried to enter the United States from Mexico at the Veterans International Bridge at 6:35 p.m. Sunday.

The 29-year-old man was referred to secondary inspection where a database check revealed he had a warrant for bond forfeiture in a sexual assault case in Moore County, Texas.

Ramos remains in the Cameron County jail where awaits extradition to the Texas Panhandle.
