Drug bust nets 95 lbs. of marijuana

GROOM, TX -- Troopers working patrol in Carson County near Groom stopped a Dodge pick up towing an enclosed trailer for speeding on I-40 last Friday.

During the stop, Troopers observed signs of criminal activity from the driver Daniel Marchello and his passenger Rolando Gomez both of Arizona.

Consent to search the vehicle was requested by Troopers. The driver Marchello gave consent to Troopers to search the vehicle.

Subsequently, Troopers searched the vehicle and located 95 lbs of Marijuana.

The marijuana was valued at $31,037 and was located inside the trailer walls.

Marchello and Gomez were placed under arrest and booked into the Carson County Jail for possession of marijuana.

Their destination was Pontiac, Michigan.
