OKLAHOMA CITY, OK (AP) -- There appears to be little support for another effort to allow some college students to carry guns on campus.
Republican state Rep. Jason Murphey of Guthrie supported such a bill during the last session and has asked that another bill be drafted.
The bill passed the House on a 65-36 vote but died in a Senate committee.
Now Murphey says he hopes a senator will file the bill to give it a better chance of passing.
Democrats oppose the bill and its being fought by college presidents and The State Chamber.
Senate majority leader Todd Lamb hasn't supported the proposal and Sen. Randy Brogdon - who cosponsored the last bill - says he won't do so this year.
