SANTA FE, NM (AP) -- Senate Republicans chose their leaders for the upcoming legislative session and Stuart Ingle of Portales remains in charge.
Ingle was elected minority leader at a Thursday caucus. No one challenged him for the position.
The new minority whip will be William Payne of Albuquerque. He defeated William Sharer of Farmington.
Payne succeeds Leonard Lee Rawson of Las Cruces, who lost his Senate seat in November.
Dianna Duran of Tularosa was re-elected as chair of the GOP caucus.
