GUYMON, OK (AP) -- An architect says two new facilities planned for Guymon will be built in an environmentally friendly fashion.
Architect Brian Curtis presented preliminary drawings of a new fire station and animal shelter to city officials earlier this month.
Curtis says the buildings will include systems for harvesting rain water and recycling water used in washing bays.
Plans also call for the buildings to use natural light and ventilation and passive heating and cooling systems. Local resources and materials will be used in constructing the facilities.
City officials will receive the designs for a new library in February.
