Competitors stay in Amarillo for almost two weeks
AMARILLO, TEXAS -- A boost for our Amarillo economy this week, as the city hosts the National Cutting Horse Association finals.
Sunday in the horse cutting competition, people 18 years and younger competed in the World Championship, and a total of 360 competitors from all over the U.S. continue to stay in Amarillo for the rest of this week's competition.
The competition brings in more than $100 million for our city.
The marketing manager for NCHA says the people in Amarillo have helped make the 10-day event even better.
"The cutting competition has really gone great. Amarillo has a great facility and the people here in the community really roll out the red carpet for us, while we're here, so everybody's been having a really good time," said marketing manager Rebecca Brian.
